Die In Agony
It all started in 2018.
Guitarist Al reached out to an old contact - Andi, our drummer - with the idea of starting yet another Melodic Death Metal band. The two had previously played together in a band called Burning Fists, from 2015 to 2016.
The uniqueness of this new project would stem from a simple but powerful idea: blending the diverse musical backgrounds of its members. After a short search, second guitarist Tobi joined the ranks. It took some time, but the trio was eventually completed by vocalist Viktor, who brought brutal, powerful growls that complemented the melodic elements perfectly.
The search for a bassist, however, proved more difficult. Musicians came and went, but none stayed. Finally, a new co-worker of Tobi's stepped in - Tristan, who added the deep low-end that Die In Agony had been missing. And all was well in paradise... until it wasn’t.
Viktor, who had been a key part of the band, decided to leave to pursue other opportunities. That’s when Steffi, our current vocalist, joined Die In Agony. Though she had big shoes to fill, she quickly made her mark, bringing her own voice and unique lyrical sense to the band.
At the end of 2020, with a solid lineup and tight rehearsals, Die In Agony recorded their first single - Until Dawn. With a release in hand, they finally had something to present to the world. This led to their debut live show: opening the very first Mammut Festival in 2022.
The following years were dedicated to songwriting and preparing for more live performances.
During this time, Tristan parted ways with the band and was replaced by Pavel, a seasoned bassist known from bands like Tales Of Darknod, Human Destroyer and Southern Deimos.
2024 marked a year of live shows.
They kicked off the season with the Bavarian Metal Headz Contest in Munich, followed by several gigs in Augsburg.
One of the highlights was a show organized by Die In Agony themselves: The Metallic Summer Night 2024, where they shared the stage with Scrying Mirror, Fracture, and Entoria.
More gigs followed, though some under unfortunate circumstances.
In July 2024, tragedy struck when the building housing their rehearsal room burned down - taking almost all of their equipment with it.
But thanks to the incredible support from the community, the band turned tragedy into an opportunity. They organized a charity event, raising funds for themselves and other affected bands. Their biggest show to date, a benefit concert hosted by the Mammut Festival in December 2024, managed to raise an impressive 4,000 €, all of which was donated to help bands in need replace their lost gear and keep the music alive.
In between, Die In Agony also had the honor of playing at the Isthmian Games 2024 in Innsbruck - their first international gig.
All the while, the search for a new rehearsal space was underway.
By 2025, Die In Agony had finally found a new home base.
The rest of the year was once again a year of rehearsals and working on new music. Aside of several newly created songs, Die In Agony also focused on releasing their next single.
Now, the mission to conquer the stages continues. Join us and see what perseverance, passion, and a love for Metal can truly achieve!
